About The Project
Safe clean drinking water is a necessity which many of us take for granted without which communities are impacted considerably. We believe in prevention being better than the cure.
We have the ability to safeguard women, children and men from water borne diseases and afflictions where there is no access to modern healthcare.
Key Facts
Since 2004 we have:
Water Wells Installed
Water Hand Pumps Installed
People with access to Water
A new innovative design which saves women and children to haul water through the traditional rope and bucket pully, the solar panels installed on the roof of these structures pull up the water without any manual labor required. The water through pipes is then dispensed through taps set in the construction for easy access.
Each such solar power water well is completed with a gift of £950.
These type of mechanisms give access to groundwater. The majority of people in isolated rural areas gain access to groundwater either by means of a bucket and rope, or by using a handpump via a borehole. This water is used for drinking, cooking and hygienic needs.
One water hand pump is equivalent to your gift of £90. To date, we have built 260 such areas where it impacts not only the people of that village but the ones in the closest vicinity as well. Making these spots as a communal gathering area.
We have a target of 100 water hand pumps and hope to build these with your help.
Water wells give access to consumable, safe drinking water to hundreds of villagers in rural areas. We have completed a number of water wells in areas of Sindh and South Punjab, Pakistan.
The construction of these wells in strategic locations saves women having to walk miles to the closest water source which may not be safe for consumption – leading to many a water contamination illness.
Each water well is completed with a gift of £750. We need your help to complete our target of 25.
