Members from our team goes out to the location to interview and verify the family needs. Distribution of Fitra and food packs are arranged by the Trust to distribute to countless impoverished families in areas identified with careful monitoring and evaluation techniques
In Arabic, the word Fitrah, Fitrana or Zakat al Fitr translates into the ‘natural instinct to give’. It is obligatory on every Muslim. However, Fitra is not the same as Zakat. The purpose of Muslims giving Fitra before Eid is to ensure that others around them are in the position to celebrate Eid with them.
One cannot celebrate while his neighbour goes hungry. This charity has been made obligatory so that we understand our responsibility towards our society. We are commanded to care for those around us just like we care for our own families.
Fitra is a gift of an amount of staple food (such as wheat, rice, barley) or equivalent money that is given to the poor or needy. The ‘amount’ is fixed too. It is usually 2.5kgs of wheat per head with the current economic rate of £30.
Usually one can start giving Fitra from 27th day of Ramadan.
We aim to distribute 500 Eid Packs consisting of staple food for 5 days, toys for children, and clothes for the family.

Deen Trust provides assistance to Muslims who are unable to fast during Ramadan through Fidya and Kafaara. Fidya is a compulsory payment for those who cannot fast due to health or other reasons, while Kafaara is an opportunity to recompense for those who break a fast without a valid reason.

The Trust provides ways for Muslims who are unable to fast, with avenues to concede with requirements during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
For every one day of missing a fast, an individual is expected to pay the value of approximately 2 kg of wheat. The purpose being that a missed fast is equivalent to feeding a poor person. Fidya is compulsory for those individuals who cannot fast during the month of Ramadan due to either ill health, travelling, old age or menstruation. If they are unable to make up for the fasts, then Fidya is owed. In the UK, this is £5 for each missed fast. This should provide one person with two meals or two people with one meal. If someone misses all the fasts of Ramadan 2023, they would need to concede £150.
This is an opportunity to recompense for individuals who deliberately miss or break a fast during Ramadan without a valid reason. Usually, if a person misses a day of fasting unnecessarily, he or she should either fast for 60 consecutive days or feed 60 poor people.

Ramadan is that time of the year, when Muslims all over the world put special emphasis on charity. We carry out food drives at small and large levels, seek out the impoverished and in need, looking to make sure that nobody stays hungry through the month. We share food with our neighbours or invite people to our homes for Iftaar – the opening of a fast.

The Trust arranges the breaking of fast for 200 people at £200 in identified villages, being served in religious centre’s i.e. Masjids. We also make arrangements for family representatives to take the food packs home for the remaining household members.

Our projects have been diverse but always to aid and benefit the common man. With our villages we are seeking to house severely marginalized families in interior Sindh and bring them together in one place. Providing them access to shelter and seeing to their hygienic needs is a priority.
Donate NowWe came across this project when the Trust’s team would be visiting and installing handpumps and water wells across Thar and other parts of interior Sindh. The purpose of us developing this village is to provide safety to the minority community who have been labelled as black pariah’s or outcasts from their own communities. The end result is scattered families across interior Sindh who live under straw structures which cannot keep them protected from the elements when the season changes.
Encompassing 7 acres of land and holding a basic structure to house a single family unit. The homes would consist of 2 rooms, a kitchen, a bathroom and a bit of open space. Indoor plumbing will also provide protection and safeguard the women’s sensibilities since they have had to resort to visiting the fields to find private corners.
The first phase of the project is to build 50 homes. After which the remaining two phases of the plan will start to slowly take effect i.e. building the remaining 150 homes and a school to help keep the children educated.
Each home costs £1,500 to be constructed.
We encourage groups of family and friends to come together and make collective donations for our projects. In this regard, if 10 donors came together and gifted £150 each, then we would be successfully able to construct one home. This is a great way for like minded individuals to unite for a cause and make a lasting impact in the lives of others.
