Maternity Camps
Maternity
To ensure both mother and baby are cared for, Deen Trust International provides Maternity Packs to new mothers. The pack draws inspiration from the NHS UK’s Baby Box and includes a versatile box that can also serve as a baby bed. It comes complete with a mattress and a fitted sheet customized to fit the box’s dimensions. Additionally, the pack contains a range of clothing items suitable for newborns up to 6 months old, along with a bath towel, a travel changing mat, baby formula, a bottle, a pack of diapers, and a bib.
Vision
Deen Trust International will be re-opening its fully-equipped Maternity Ward as part of the Moin Akhtar Memorial Hospital in 2024. The Trust envisions to help reduce mother and child fatality rates in the region.
Donations will be allocated to hospital’s regular operations, periodic expansion and continue to provide quality health services to those who need it. Quality doctors, nurses and dispensaries provided by the hospital aim to reduce unnecessary procedures such as C-sections for profit gain.
Built in 2012, the hospital offered a fully comprehensive maternity service with all services including neonatal services, parent education. Comprised of expecting approximately 270 births per year, consultant obstetricians and an experienced team of midwives who are well supported by medically trained midwife assistants, the project requires further investment to continue its purpose.
